These features will help you make a decision
- Good optical zoom : Better the zoom, better the picture
- Digital Zoom - Not at all important. It makes the picture blurred
- Features like portrait, landscape, cloudy etc. More of them, you have better options
- Compact cameras v/s SLRs. Compact is light in weight and easy to carry. Good for family and casual photos. Digital SLRs are little bit bulky but fun to use.
- Mega Pixel: 6 mega pixel is good enough for family photography. But if you are looking for a poster then you will need more pixels.
